Message from the OIC: The new fire station.

An update on the new fire station in Wodonga located on Thomas Mitchell Drive.

Currently;

  • Concrete repairs to front apron were completed on Tuesday 18th Dec. Temp fencing will stay in place till the 7th Jan to protect it from vehicle damage.
  • The rear yard has been levelled by a bobcat & is ready for a slasher.
  • The site was officially handed over to CFA on Tuesday 18th – a few defects are still being managed.
  • An induction was held on Tuesday for select staff who will now pass this on thru the ranks. I will conduct that induction with Volunteer members when convenient.
  • NBN Connection is still outstanding. Connection should be done within 2 weeks???
  • FFE item procurement is being held up as items are not being released from providers until CFA has finalised payment.
  • Move in date is tentatively booked for the week of 21st January.
  • Marching training will be scheduled in the new year in readiness for the official opening.
  • Official opening planning will commence in early January with event pack construction & Brigade consultation. I envisage that the Official Opening will be planned for April 2019.
  • Key allocation for Staff & Volunteers is underway & Key FOB programming is at 50% for all members. I am awaiting Dave Gunst returning from A/L to finish this.
  • Generally, all systems seem to be working fine.

I would like to extend a big thanks to all Staff & volunteers of the Brigade for such fantastic support to get us all to this point.

I hope all have a great Christmas & safe New Year.

Regards,

Ash
